Annabelle is a 2014 American supernatural horror film directed by John R. Leonetti, written by Gary Dauberman and produced by Peter Safran and James Wan. It is a prequel to 2013's The Conjuring and the second installment in The Conjuring franchise. The film stars Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, Alfre Woodard, Tony Amendola, and Eric Ladin.
The story follows a couple who begins to experience supernatural activity after their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult who have left an evil doll named Annabelle in their home as part of a ritual. As the couple investigates the history of the doll and its connection to the cult, they discover that it has been possessed by a malicious entity with sinister intentions. In order to protect their daughter from harm, they must confront the demonic force before it can take control of her body and soul.
