The story of Rin Okumura, an exorcist who grew up alongside Shirou Fujimoto, is told in Blue Exorcist. Following a disagreement between the two, Rin discovers that he is the devil's son. He now makes the decision to defy fate by enrolling in Holy Cross Academy to train as an exorcist and battle demons. However, his demonic strength grows stronger inside of him each time he pulls his blade.
