Crime essentially runs the show in Ergastulum. The city is contaminated by bribery, thievery, and prostitution, and the police can only helplessly observe. Deaf Nic and part-time gigolo Worick labor as garbage men and handymen in this seedy tiny town, handling the waste of the urban populace and performing grubby jobs that everyone else is too good for.
One day, they receive a request to disband a new gang that has taken over an area controlled by a powerful mafia family from their regular customer, local cop Chad Adkins. Actually, the two are dealing with a common situation (including a similarly common slaughter), but it quickly becomes apparent that this assignment is going to cause them further difficulties.
