Nekopara is a series of mature visual novels where humans and "Nekos" (anthropomorphized catgirls) are living side by side. Neko Works developed the series with Sekai Project as the publisher. The gameplay for visual novels is generaly a linear point-and-click format. Later game in the series allow the player to click on characters to pet them and this gives different reactions depending on where you click.
OVA Anime
Sekai Project was able to release a Kickstarter-backed OVA that is appropriate for all ages. The campaign in 2016 was able to reach its US$100,000 goal a few hours after launching. It finally ended in March 2017, raising at least a million US dollars. The first OVA was be released in December 2017 and the second OVA was released in July 2018. A visual novel was released with the second OVA.
Television anime
Felix Film produced an anime adaptation with 12 episodes. The series director is Yasutaka Yamamoto.
Manga
A manga adaptation with Tam-U as the illustrator is currently being published.
