Modern-day London serves as the setting for Phantom in the Twilight, when so-called Shadows are created from people's anxieties and fears. A young woman who relocated to study abroad finds herself caught up in weird occurrences at her new university. The girl walks the streets of London without a friend to turn to and then finds herself at the Café Forbidden. There, she meets a lot of appealing and enigmatic coworkers. The café is a mysterious location that only opens at midnight, where guards assemble to watch over the boundary between the realm of the Shadows and that of humanity.
