Shadows House Cosplay

In the story Shadows House, the nobility of this world is represented by so-called shadows who reside in a massive castle. Since their entire bodies are black, the only way to tell them apart practically is by the exquisite clothing they are dressed in. Additionally, they constantly release soot, particularly during times of anxiety or rage. Living dolls that resemble humans serve these shadows in two different capacities: first, as the castle's servants, they must constantly remove the soot that has been secreted; second, each shadow has a puppet that represents its visible face; in this capacity, the puppets do not express their own emotions but those of their shadow.

Each of the five little shadows receives a brand-new doll at the start of the story. A test is used to see whether shadow and doll fit together because the coupling of emotions is not yet complete. The shadow girl Kate and her doll Emilico are among these test subjects. Emilico is very different from the other dolls, who are largely inert and preoccupied with their shadows. She is curious about her surroundings and sympathetic toward other dolls, which prompts her to immediately try to make friends with them. The examiners, who dislike seeing such things, quickly detect this.
