Snow White with the Red Hair is a Japanese shōjo manga written by Sorata Akiduki. It was serialized in Hakusensha's monthly shōjo manga magazine, LaLa DX but has since moved to LaLa and is published in collected volumes by Hakusensha. The story focuses on Shirayuki, a young independent and strong-willed girl who works as an apothecary at the herbalist palace of Tanbarun. When she is proposed and chased after by the prince of Tanbarun, Raji Shenazard, for her unusual red hair, she cuts it and runs away to the neighboring kingdom of Clarines.
On her journey there, she meets Zen Wistalia, the second prince of Clarines who helps her after she saves his life from bandits. After arriving in Clarines, Shirayuki passes an exam for a position as a court herbalist and befriends many important people in the kingdom including Prince Zen himself. As Shirayuki develops relationships with these characters, she also faces various challenges related to both her profession as an apothecary and her growing romantic feelings for Zen.
