The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii home console. It is the sixteenth main installment in The Legend of Zelda series, and was released worldwide in November 2011.
The game follows series protagonist Link as he journeys to save the land of Hyrule from a demonic force known as Demise. To do this, he must traverse through multiple regions, using a variety of items and weapons to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Along his journey, Link meets with various characters who aid him on his quest, including Fi, a spirit guide who helps him understand the secrets of Skyward Sword.
Skyward Sword features several new gameplay mechanics that are unique to the series, such as motion controls utilizing Wii MotionPlus technology, sword combat based on player movements rather than button presses, and an upgradeable health system. The game also features a large number of side quests and mini-games which reward players with items or upgrades that can be used in their quest.
