The Story of Saiunkoku Cosplay

A young man once battled evil while carrying the will of the people in his heart during a time when the globe was torn apart by conflict. The individual, known by many names, soon possessed the enigmatic abilities of the eight sages. Sougen was his name. A new dawn soon broke for the globe as the eight sages' knowledge was harnessed. He served as the Saiun Empire's first emperor. After his passing, the eight sages once more retreated into hiding, yet there is a legend that they are still present in our midst.

Shuurei Kou informs her students in this manner. Young Saiunkoku noblewoman Shuurei resides with her father, a well-liked palace librarian, and Seiran, a man she saved 13 years ago and who has been devotedly serving her ever since. However, the family is struggling because the profession as a librarian does not pay much. Shuurei must work a variety of jobs to provide for the family since their home is in need of repair. She aspires to be a powerful politician, but women are not allowed to take the test.

However, a palace court counselor makes a suggestion one day. The family must move inside the palace in exchange for his gift of 500 gold coins to the family. Seiran will serve as the palace guard's temporary captain, and Shuurei will wed the emperor. The present emperor is the youngest of five children, and due to various events, he came to the throne. He is unpopular with the populace, though, because he shirks all responsibility and lets his advisors run the affairs of the nation. Additionally, there are reports going around that he has no interest in women. It is Shuurei's responsibility to assist the emperor in ruling the realm. Not a simple task, especially given that she must first acquire all of these skills on her own.
